2011 Northern Lights Cup will feature Elliott 6m Boats and Coach Dave Perry

Sail Sheboygan is pleased to announce that the 4th annual Northern Lights Cup Women’s Match Racing Clinic and Regatta will be held June 15 to 19, 2011. Dave Perry, 3-time US Match Racing Champion and coach to the US SAILING Team AlphaGraphics Women’s Match Race Team, will begin the event with a two-day comprehensive clinic. A complete ISAF Grade 3 regatta sailed in Sheboygan’s fleet of Elliott 6m boats will follow.

The Perry clinic is one of a series of opportunities offered in 2011 for women sailors looking to take their match racing game to next level of competition. On-the-water drills will be combined with practice races and detailed video debriefings to help sailors faster and smarter. The three-day regatta will provide a great opportunity for participants to put their newly learned skills and tactics to the test in close racing competition with continued coaching by Perry.

Not only will competitors learn match racing skills and tactics from one of the world’s very best coaches and have the opportunity to sail the 2012 Olympic match racing boat, but the top US placing skipper will qualify for the US Women’s Match Racing Championship hosted by Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans, November 9 to 13, 2011.
